Charity begins at home.
By Hizbullah
Children are dependent on parents and elders for survival and protection. It is the prime responsibility of the parents to provide an environment that helps in developing his/her full potential. Facilitate him/her to recognize her duty as a citizen, and encourage her/him to participate in the society. A child needs to be equipped with knowledge and confidence and a sense of dignity to enable him/her to be productive, strong, independent, caring and responsible member of the society. A child is entitled to fundamental human rights as provided in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as well as in the U.N Convention on Child Rights. All these proclaim that childhood is entitled to special care and assistance. On the whole, their needs must be understood on all levels.
